I’m Mitchell Brown, and I’m a freelance writer and occasional screenwriter. I’m a graduate of the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee and I specialize in film theory, analysis, and criticism, with over 100 articles in my portfolio. You can find my work published on websites like FlickSided, Movie Web, MXDWN, 1428 Elm, Slay Away, and Medium.

I also have experience with research and historical journalism. If you have a Barnes & Noble nearby, you can regularly find my articles in ROUTE Magazine, a bi-monthly publication covering people and places all around Route 66 (with celebrity interviews peppered in for good measure). In my time there, not only have I gotten my work published, but I’ve also assisted with research and interview questions for celebrities like Patrick Stewart, Andy Garcia, Thora Birch, and Linda Ronstadt.

When I’m not dissecting movies or calling attention to lesser-seen films, I’m writing spec scripts, with my primary experience being in writing dialogue-heavy, coming-of-age dramas. That being said, I’m a fan of all film genres, especially horror, and I’m always looking to branch out.
